It suits riders who value refined communication and are looking for a bit that works with the horse rather than against it — offering subtle guidance without force.

The loose ring gag brings a distinctive quality to the contact. As the rider softly takes up the rein, the bit rises gently in the mouth, creating light, even pressure at the corners of the lips and a corresponding softness through the poll. This invites the horse to seek a more correct head carriage naturally, rather than being pulled into position. The free movement of the loose rings allows the horse to mouth the bit comfortably, reducing tension and encouraging a willing, relaxed acceptance of the contact.

The mouthpiece is crafted from sweet iron, a material chosen for its exceptional ability to foster harmony between horse and bit. As the iron oxidises through regular use, it develops a mild, pleasant taste that encourages the horse to salivate freely. This natural softening of the mouth translates directly into a more supple, elastic contact — the horse relaxes its jaw, breathes more easily, and moves with greater confidence and calm.

The cherry roller mouthpiece addresses one of the more common challenges riders face: the horse that leans, grabs, or simply switches off. The independently turning rollers discourage the horse from taking a firm hold of the bit, while simultaneously engaging the tongue in constant, gentle activity. This heightened tongue movement further stimulates saliva production and encourages the jaw to stay loose and mobile, keeping the horse mentally present, physically relaxed, and genuinely responsive to even the subtlest of aids.

Ideal for:

- Horses that tend to pull, lean, or grab at the bit

- Horses that carry tension in the jaw or struggle to maintain a supple contact

- Horses that benefit from encouragement toward correct head carriage and poll softness

- Strong or forward-going horses that need a refined but effective means of communication

- Horses with an active, busy mouth that responds well to additional tongue stimulation

- Riders with an established, sensitive hand who can work sympathetically with the gag action

- Riders across disciplines seeking a gentle yet effective solution for focus and balance

Care & Use

After each ride, rinse the bit with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
