Soft'Up Classic – comfort, technology and performance

Designed by Italian design house Pininfarina and developed with show jumper Pénélope Leprevost, the Soft'Up Classic is built for riders who want a straight leg position. It suits boots up to EU size 44, and its single-branch construction delivers a balance of safety, comfort and performance that conventional stirrups can't match.

Single-branch shock absorption

The spring steel single branch works like suspension. It soaks up the impact of every stride, taking load off the rider's joints and the horse's back, and cutting the force on each stirrup to around a third of a traditional design. This is Freejump's Shock Absorption technology, and it is what gives the Soft'Up range its "air cushion" feel.

Safer foot release

The outer branch is moulded from flexible Elastollan®. If a rider falls, it gives under the pressure of the foot and opens, helping the foot come free rather than being trapped.

Grip that holds

A super grip floor reinforced with fibreglass gives secure, long-lasting traction, and removable steel studs add extra bite. Worn studs can be swapped out, so the stirrup keeps performing.

Straight eye, natural position

The eye sits parallel to the floor, which turns the toe gently inwards. This suits the shape of the female pelvis in particular and makes a straight, relaxed leg position easy to hold. The wider eye pairs well with Freejump's wide-loop leathers (Classic Wide and 4x6), though the stirrup works with any leathers.

Shock absorption

High-strength spring steel (1200 MPa), overmoulded in Elastollan®, absorbs shock and fatigue and divides the effort on each stirrup by three.

Easier foot release

The flexible outer branch opens under foot pressure in a fall.

Super grip

Reinforced super grip floor with removable, replaceable steel studs.

Straight eye

Eye parallel to the floor for an inward toe and a straight leg. Best with Classic Wide or 4x6 leathers.

Offset centre of gravity

The forward-set centre of gravity tilts the floor back slightly, encouraging a natural heel drop.
