Velari Eggbutt Flex with Tongue Port Hard
The Velari Eggbut Flex Hard with tongue port 20 mm offers a firmer feel for horses that benefit from a more defined rein connection. It supports clearer aids and can help reduce leaning without resorting to metal. While firmer than the Soft and Medium versions, the bit maintains a smooth, rounded surface to avoid unnecessary pressure points.
Constructed from a firm, non-toxic synthetic material, the surface remains smooth and safe while offering maximum clarity of aid. The material is free of harmful substances and suitable for long-term use. While firmer than the Soft and Medium options, it still avoids the coldness and unforgiving feel of traditional metal bits, making it a considered choice for riders needing more defined communication.
This bit features a firm tongue port that offers stability, clear contact and pressure relief on the tongue. The mouthpiece maintains its shape under pressure, making it ideal for horses that tend to lean or become heavy in softer bits. The mouthpiece evenly distributes pressure across the bars. The port provides extra tongue room, shifting pressure away from the center of the tongue and onto the bars. This makes the bit ideal for horses that are sensitive to tongue pressure or tend to stick their tongue out.
With Eggbut rings, the mouthpiece remains more stable in the horse’s mouth, preventing excessive lateral movement and reducing the risk of pinching at the corners of the mouth. This steadiness supports horses who appreciate a quieter bit, helping them stay confident in the contact. The fixed rings provide consistent, reliable rein aids and contribute to a soft but secure connection throughout the ride.
