Description
The Eggbutt Soft Flex Soft is made for the most sensitive horses. Integrated bit guards help prevent the lips from touching metal, so the horse only makes contact with the soft material. The ultra-supple, flexible mouthpiece encourages chewing, relaxation, and a steady contact.
The outer layer is made from a soft synthetic compound, free from toxins and designed for safe, daily use. Its smooth finish protects delicate oral tissue while the inner flex core gives just enough movement to adapt with the horse’s mouth. Horses that dislike rigid or metal bits often respond with greater relaxation and salivation to this material.
The flexible, straight bar mouthpiece softly follows the natural shape of the horse’s mouth and avoids the nutcracker effect of jointed bits. Because it’s so flexible, it cushions rein aids and smooths out pressure, making it easier for sensitive horses to stretch forward and down into a comfortable contact. With a 20 mm thickness for broad pressure distribution, it’s especially gentle on delicate tongues and bars.
With Eggbutt rings, the mouthpiece remains more stable in the horse’s mouth, preventing excessive lateral movement. This steadiness supports horses who appreciate a quieter bit, helping them stay confident in the contact. These consistent, reliable rein aids contribute to a soft but secure connection throughout the ride.

Care & use
After each ride, rinse the bit with warm water and dry with a soft cloth. Store in a dry place and check regularly for smooth, even wear.
Make sure the bit is positioned correctly: the star must be on the left side and the Velari logo on the right.
